A's center fielder Crisp has hamstring injury

PHOENIX (AP) -New Oakland Athletics center fielder Coco Crisp has a strained left hamstring and it isn't clear how long he might be sidelined.

Crisp, who is being listed as day-to-day, was underwent treatment Wednesday morning on the leg, which he had wrapped. The 30-year-old Crisp signed a $5.25 million, one-year contract in December and is among several big offseason acquisitions that general manager Billy Beane hopes will make the A's a contender again in the AL West.

In addition to Crisp, right-handed reliever Joey Devine is being shut down for about a week because of soreness in his surgically repaired elbow. He underwent Tommy John surgery last April and was considered ahead of schedule in his recovery.

The AFC South and the NFC East are the favorite divisions to have the next Super Bowl champ among them in the NFL betting odds. Let’s not overlook the AFC North at +500. As TO goes to Cincinnati to join Chad OchoCinco and Adam “Pac-Man” Jones, this team looks to claim the division title again. And it is likely they will do so. The Bengals lost in the AFC Wild Card spot in a hard-fought battle against the New York Jets last season. Lest not forget the Pittsburgh Steelers, the XLII Super Bowl Champions… All these teams present interesting odds and matchups for the upcoming season, but the safest and surest bet seems to be with the Colts in the AFC South and the Cowboys in the NFC East. Sportsbook betting odds favor Europe in Ryder Cup
